The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Macharelles has a little more focus and definition than the Puligny-Villages, with heightened chalk and flinty scents that are very persuasive. The palate is fresh and crisp: quite saline in the mouth with bitter lemon lending tension and race. Jean-Jacques compared this to the 2008 or 2010, and I am inclined to agree. This was fantastic from vat, likewise fantastic in bottle. It comes highly recommended.
